Help Peter!





Dear family and friends (and those of you that I do not yet know
personally)!



I write to you because my brother Peter needs our help! He has for two years
now been fighting Hodgkin’s disease (lymphatic cancer). One of the effects
of the cancer on his body is an itch which leaves him miserable throughout
ever day and every night. He only sleeps out of sheer exhaustion. He'll
sweat and be cold at the same time and is literally feeling tortured. Peter
and his family have come to the point where they need to see something
happen! And preferably NOW!



Peter left Tuesday, February 24th to go to a German hospital close to
Munich. They provide a type of cancer treatment that Peter believes to be
effective & safe. They use a variety of methods to defeat the cancer. We
have confidence that during his time there, we will see major improvements
in his condition. I travelled with him and stayed for the first few days.
His initial treatment will last three weeks. We will not know until later
what follow-up treatment is recommended for Peter.





Collection!



I have decided to set up a collection on Peter’s behalf, which is why you
are receiving this letter. Financially we have a problem. We have no time to
seek out funds or to battle the healthcare system. Peter has suffered with
this terrible itching for over 2 years now and this needs to stop. Because
of that, he is now going into an intensified alternative treatment, partly
funded by private loans.



The last week has been very busy, my family and I have been in touch with
the Danish tax-authorities, with lawyers, accountants etc. We have reached
the point of opening a bank account for the purpose of raising money for
Peter's treatment, and we have submitted an application with the police for
a public fundraiser.



The Danish tax-laws provide that Peter, due to his serious illness, can
receive a gift from fundraising taxfree. He can not have initiated the
fundraising himself, and the collection has to be in a broader setting than
just family. The accountant of Nexoe Free Church Jens Otto Dam Larsen from
Centrum-Accounting has agreed to counsel, help with the collection and do
the paperwork at the end of it.





Do you want to help?


There are several ways I need help in order for this project to succeed. I
will need:



* Someone who can make a website for this purpose.

* Someone with connection in the press, perhaps the story of Peter's
family could be published, in a local paper or other places.

* Anyone who will raise money in their church or in other ways,
maybe you have an idea already?

* People who will give up things i.e. candy, wine or other things
during the time of fasting (the 40 days before Easter), in order to support
Peter's treatment.

* People willing to support the treatment financially.

* and lots and lots of people who will support Peter in prayer
